As usual, I am excited to share with you two books that have changed my life.
This month’s focus is Health and Personal Development.
I have not met many people during my lifetime that did not believe these two areas required continual work.
Every year millions of Americans make resolutions to eat better, read more, watch less T.V., lose weight, spend more time with family, read the Bible, eliminate toxic relationships etc. Sadly, by March, most people have reverted to their “Old habits.”
One of the reasons for this continuous “failure” is a lack of understanding of how change is produced in our life. One of the best ways to make change is to make small commitments and small changes that you can perform every day. It is said that “Repetition is the mother of retention.” If you are going to develop a habit, it helps to start small and then to repeat until it becomes a habit. 21 Days for most habits is not sufficient time to reach the subconscious level.
I have found that another way to change an area of your life is to add a task next to something that you already do daily. Example, assuming brushing your teeth is one of the first things you do when you wake up, and you want to consistently read a few chapters of the Bible daily, add your Bible reading, immediately AFTER you brush your teeth. It is easier to add new behaviour or habits, next to an existing DAILY HABIT or activity.
The two books will challenge you to make change by focusing on small daily choices.
I am a big believer that if you want to change any area of your life, you need to change you.
I often say, “We don’t get out of life what we want, but who and what we are.” Which means to change your life, you MUST CHANGE YOURSELF.
If you have any health challenges or concerns or have desired to be an early riser, but it is just not you; you will find my book choices this month to be extremely helpful.

These two books will challenge you to stretch yourself. If you find mediocrity and slothfulness to be a continual challenge, here are small choices you can make starting immediately. Take time to listen to the short Books That Have Changed My Life Podcast. You will find a few quick action tips.
The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod will teach you to break your morning into 6 daily exercises that include reading, writing, prayer, a meditation on the Scriptures, exercises and Affirmations.
Apple Cider Vinegar by Paula Braggs will give you many reasons to drink Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar every day. I believe every home in America should make drinking ACV a daily ritual.
